Returns, Refunds & Repairs
Every instrument built or serviced by Fayland Guitars is custom work, handled with care and tailored to each customer. Because of the nature of what we do, our policy is straightforward and applies without exception. Please read it carefully before placing an order or dropping off an instrument for repair.
All Sales Are Final
We do not accept returns, exchanges, or refunds on any custom build, repair, or service. By placing an order with Fayland Guitars or authorizing repair work, you acknowledge and agree that all sales are final due to the custom nature of our products and services.
Custom Builds
Deposits and Payments
Deposits and all payments made toward a custom build are non-refundable. This includes initial deposits, progress payments, and final payments. Once a build slot is reserved and work has begun, materials are sourced and labor is committed specifically to your instrument, and these costs cannot be recovered.
Changes to Your Order
Once your initial quote has been agreed upon and payment has been received, no changes, modifications, or substitutions to the original specifications are permitted. We encourage you to review every detail of your quote carefully before committing, and to ask any questions you may have during the design phase.
Build Timelines
Estimated completion dates are exactly that — estimates. Custom builds involve materials, processes, and finishes that can vary in their timing. We will keep you updated throughout the entire build and communicate openly about any timeline adjustments. Delays in completion do not entitle the customer to a refund or cancellation.
Final Payment and Forfeiture
Final payment is due by the date specified on your final invoice. If final payment is not received by the stated deadline, the instrument will become the property of Fayland Guitars and will be eligible for resale. Any prior payments and deposits will be forfeited.
Repair Services
Care of Your Instrument
We pride ourselves on taking the best possible care of your instrument while it is in our shop. We will keep you updated on our progress throughout the repair and will communicate any changes to the original estimate before additional work is performed.
Repair Estimates and Timelines
Repair estimates and estimated completion dates are subject to change. As work progresses, we sometimes uncover additional issues or complications that affect cost or timing. We will always notify you of changes and keep you informed of our progress.
Pre-Existing and Incidental Damage
Fayland Guitars is not responsible for any pre-existing damage to your instrument or for any incidental damage that may occur during the course of repair work. By authorizing repair, you acknowledge that older or fragile instruments carry inherent risk, and you accept that risk.
All Repair Work Is Final
Due to the custom nature of our work, all repair services are final once completed. No returns, refunds, or chargebacks are accepted, no exceptions.
Abandoned Instruments
Instruments left in our care for more than 30 days after completion of repair will be considered abandoned and will become the property of Fayland LLC (DBA Fayland Guitars). Abandoned instruments may be sold, scrapped, or otherwise disposed of at our discretion to recover unpaid costs and storage. Please pick up your instrument promptly once notified that the work is complete.
Defects and Workmanship
While we do not offer returns or refunds, we stand behind the quality of our work. If you believe there is a defect in materials or workmanship on a delivered instrument or completed repair, contact us directly so we can review the issue and determine appropriate next steps at our discretion.
Questions
If anything in this policy is unclear, please reach out before placing your order or authorizing repair work. We would much rather answer your questions up front than have any misunderstanding later.
By placing an order or authorizing repair work with Fayland Guitars, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this policy in full.
