Posted onTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I learned to play guitar in the 70’s . Two talented and patient friends taught me. One friend had a Martin D-18 and the other a beautiful Gibson Hummingbird and a Les Paul. I can still remember the great tone of their guitars. I had a cheap acoustic that was at best OK. Then life happened and I didn’t play for the next 40+ years. As I approached retirement I knew I wanted to play again. I told my wife of my plan and she said,” why wait let’s go get a new guitar”. That day I bought a Les Paul knockoff . Six months later I bought a Telecaster style guitar since I was playing mostly country. Six months after that I was looking for a better sound and shopping for a better guitar. I saw a video of The Red Clay Strays and they were playing Fayland guitars and they sounded great. I called Chris Fayland about his Tele style guitars. Did I need a hand crafted guitar? No, but I sure wanted one. After talking with Chris I spaced my own guitar the next day. A couple weeks ago my guitar was shipped from Alabama to my home in Colorado. It is beautiful and it has the tone I was looking for. Every note is clear and it is a pleasure to play. Chris is a talented craftsman. I don’t like the guitar I love it.

I brought my Traben 5 string Bass to Fayland Guitars for a setup and some electronic work as well. The bass sounds better than ever. I will definitely be doing more business here in the near future. Took my LTD EX400 in for some electrical and fret work. Chris replaced my scratchy pots with high quality US made pots and fixed a wobbly neck pickup. He also filed the frets and got them all silky smooth. The guitar plays/sounds better than new. I just wish I would have brought it to him sooner.

I was looking for a new Luthier and found his website and saw all the great reviews so I reached out. He set up and leveled the frets on one of my electric guitars and gave it a whole new life! He also was super insightful and took the time to answer all my questions. Plus he's a really cool guy to talk to. You can tell he is very passionate about his work. Needless to say, I'm planning on bringing all my guitars to him soon!

Chris Fayland is a highly skilled repair tech and luthier. I would love to own a custom build one day. In the meantime, he brought my 24 year old Larrivee acoustic back to life and it’s playing better than ever. Can’t say enough great things about him and his expertise! ★★★★★It’s hard enough buying a guitar online without playing it, but it’s even harder to trust an obscure builder that lives halfway across the country. If you read into Fayland guitars you will be impressed, and if you Love that Fender tone and feel as I do, once you get one, you might just consider selling some of those expensive Fenders in your collection for another Fayland. Excellent customer service, excellent shipping and personal attention from the master-builder himself. Highly recommended!
